Common Questions
School Cleaning FAQ
Are your employees background-checked for working around children?
Yes. Every WellNest employee is background-checked before working in any facility. For school and daycare accounts in Northern Virginia, the background check is a direct-hire W-2 process, meaning WellNest conducts it and stands behind every person it sends. Staff are not gig workers or subcontractors sourced through a platform. If your school has specific background check standards required by your accreditation, insurance, or administration, share those during the walkthrough and WellNest will confirm compliance.
Do you offer deep cleans during school breaks or over the summer?
Yes. Break periods and summer are the right time for tasks that cannot happen during the school year, such as stripping and refinishing gym floors, deep-cleaning kitchen and cafeteria equipment, washing windows, cleaning baseboards and fixtures, and refreshing high-touch classroom surfaces. WellNest can schedule these as part of a standing annual program or as individual deep-clean visits coordinated with your facilities team. Most Northern Virginia schools on a recurring WellNest program plan at least one major break deep clean per year.
How do you approach surface disinfection in classrooms and shared spaces?
WellNest uses an evidence-based disinfection approach on high-touch surfaces in classrooms, desks, doorknobs, light switches, and shared equipment. Products used in educational environments are selected for safety around children. WellNest follows label directions on dwell time, which is something many cleaning services skip, and can accommodate schools that have their own approved product list. During cold and flu season, or following any illness-related closure, enhanced disinfection protocols are available on request.
Are your employees bonded and insured?
Yes. Every WellNest employee is a W-2 employee (not a gig worker or independent contractor), hired, vetted, background-checked, trained, bonded, and insured by WellNest directly. This means you have a single accountable company behind every person entering your facility, and proper liability coverage if anything is ever damaged or goes wrong. Documentation is available on request.
Do you use green or environmentally friendly cleaning products?
WellNest uses an evidence-based green cleaning approach across all services, choosing products and methods that are effective and safer for building occupants and the environment. If your facility has specific product requirements (fragrance-free, low-VOC, EPA Safer Choice, or a product list you already use), let us know during the walkthrough and we'll accommodate them.
What if we're not satisfied with the cleaning?
Contact us directly. Same-day response during business hours, within one business day after hours. If something was missed or not done to the agreed standard, we'll address it promptly. Commercial accounts have a named point of contact, not a generic support queue, so issues get resolved by someone who knows your facility.
What areas does WellNest serve with its commercial cleaning services?
WellNest serves businesses in Northern Virginia (including Alexandria and Arlington), Washington D.C., and parts of Maryland such as Bethesda, Columbia, and Rockville.
