This week was a hard one. As many of you know, we have been leveraging Uber’s platform for transportation to and from homes. It allows us to variabilize our cost structure, removes delays driven by parking, and when just going 1-2 miles from home to home in Arlington, it’s inexpensive. It’s also unique to the industry, which adds to our appeal within the community. BUT we’re running into an issue — some drivers have been downright rude and disrespectful. We’ve heard, “Oh you smell bad I don’t want my car to smell like you,” or “Uber isn’t for people like you.” Our teams work hard, really hard. Cleaning is a physically challenging job but the ladies love the satisfaction knowing they’re making their customers’ days. I call or email each and every one of our customers. The ladies always get a kick out of the great reviews we keep getting —
-
“I just got WellNested!”
-
“Oh my it is SO nice to come home to a clean place”
-
My personal favorite — “I’ll be honest I was skeptical on the natural thing but y’all nailed it. I always thought we needed bleach for the mold that builds up in the bathroom but I just threw out our bleach and will never use it again.”
They work hard to make people’s lives easier. And to have Uber drivers make these comments is really disappointing. This is probably something we should’ve foreseen but I think we all try to have a little faith in humanity. The thing is, it’s not Uber’s fault. Their platform works great. It’s just people. As you can tell I’m pretty frustrated, but we are working on a solution that I think might be better for us overall anyway.
Be on the lookout for WellNest-branded, hybrid vehicles around Arlington, Alexandria, Vienna, and Falls Church. I’m not a fan of fixed costs
